Explore the splendor of the ancient Javanese architectural masterpiece, Borobudur Temple. Walking from the East side, you will be invited to see the temple structure in its entirety and stand at the location where the Maharaja of the Syailendra Dynasty set foot to worship the greatness of the Creator. While enjoying the beauty of the reliefs, you will be brought to understand the concept of human life in Buddhist philosophy in the wrapping of Ancient Javanese culture.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

2. The ticket is valid for the selected date of visit.
3. The ticket is non-refundable. No change date, No reschedule 
4. The ticket is valid for one-time use only.
5. The limitation on the number of visitors is intended to regulate the crowd management according to the carrying capacity available in the Borobudur temple monument area.
6. The limitation on the number of visitors is set to 1,200 people per day through a mechanism that allows a maximum of 150 people at the Borobudur temple monument at the same time.
7. Visitors who will climb the Borobudur temple monument and its courtyard can visit on Tuesday to Sunday.
8. Operating hours:
   • Tuesday - Sunday: 09.00 - 17.00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time)
9. The number of visitors is regulated in eight visiting sessions:
   1. 08:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 09:00 to 10:00 WIB
   2. 09:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 10:00 to 11:00 WIB
   3. 10:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 11:00 to 12:00 WIB
   4. 11:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 12:00 to 13:00 WIB
   5. 12:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 13:00 to 14:00 WIB
   6. 13:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 14:00 to 15:00 WIB
   7. 14:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 15:00 to 16:00 WIB
   8. 15:30 Session, visitors allowed to go up the temple from 16.00 to 17:00 WIB (17:00 WIB Clear Area Monument of Borobudur)
10. All visitors who climb the Borobudur temple monument are required to wear special footwear/Upanat provided by the management.
11. Individual or group visitors who will climb the Borobudur temple monument must be accompanied by a guide provided by the management. One guide should lead a minimum of 5 to 15 visitors.
12. All visitors wearing open clothing (pants/skirts above the knee) must wear a cover provided/facilitated by the management (borrowed).

ARRIVAL TERMS

1. Visitors must present an e-ticket obtained through online or onsite purchase/reservation.
2. The e-ticket will be validated by the Customer Service/Pamong Budaya officer at the reception area, at the International Tourist Booth.
3. After e-ticket validation, visitors will receive a special wristband to indicate that they have access to the Borobudur temple monument.
4. Visitors are welcome to enter the waiting room and will be provided with special footwear/Upanat according to the size chosen at the time of ticket purchase.
5. In the waiting room, visitors will be introduced to a guide/Pamong Carita who will accompany the visit from the reception area, the journey to the temple, and explanations while at the temple monument according to the theme chosen by the visitor.
6. Guides/Pamong Carita and special footwear/Upanat are facilities provided to visitors.
7. The standard language provided by the Guide/Pamong Carita is Indonesian and English, but it is possible to request a guide who speaks a language other than English.
8. One guide/Pamong Carita will lead a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 visitors.
9. Customer Service officers will arrange and divide groups of visitors and adjust them to the guide’s needs, language requirements, and special footwear/Upanat needs.
10. Private guide/Pamong Carita options are available to visitors who do not meet the minimum of 5 visitors and/or do not want to join other visitors. Private guides/Pamong Carita are subject to an additional guiding fee of IDR 20,000 per domestic visitor and IDR 30,000 per international visitor.

ON THE BOROBUDUR TEMPLE TERMS

1. Before climbing the Borobudur temple monument, all visitors must wear the special footwear/Upanat provided upon arrival.
   
2. The place to wear special footwear/Upanat is located before the stairs to the Borobudur temple monument.
3. Tourists ascend the Borobudur Temple monument through the main entrance on the east side and descend through the exit on the west side.
4. Before climbing the stairs of the Borobudur Temple monument, service personnel will scan the wristband to ensure that the relevant tourist has the right to enter the temple and also to count the number of tourists who enter the Borobudur Temple monument.
5. The time allocated for being at the Borobudur Temple monument is a maximum of 1 (one) hour, starting from the time the stairs of the Borobudur Temple monument are climbed.
6. While at the Borobudur Temple monument, tourists are required to follow the route, explanations and duration set by the guide/Pamong Carita.
7. Tourists will be guided and given explanations according to the theme/story chosen at the time of purchasing the ticket.
8. The maximum limit for tourists visiting the Borobudur monument area is the 9th floor/terrace.
9. While at the Borobudur Temple monument, tourists are not allowed to consume food and drinks, smoke, litter, climb the temple walls, touch the relief sculptures, carve the temple stones, fly drones, bring pets, or carry sharp weapons.
10. After descending from the Borobudur Temple monument, service personnel will scan the wristband to count the number of tourists who have descended from the Borobudur Temple monument.
11. After descending from the Borobudur Temple monument, tourists are welcome to change back into their own shoes or sandals.
12. The special footwear/Upanat becomes a gift/souvenir and can be taken home by tourists.
