Jomblang Cave
Jomblang Cave is one of hundreds of caves in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. It is a vertical collapse doline formed thousands of years ago when the earth’s surface and its vegetation plunged into an underground void, creating a 50-meter-wide sinkhole, known locally as “Luweng Jomblang”.
The Jomblang Cave Experience
One of Jomblang’s most fascinating features is the spectacular "heavenly light"—a natural shaft of sunlight that streams through the cave’s ceiling, illuminating the underground chamber in a mesmerizing display.
Visitors will descend 60 meters into the cave using specialized Single Rope Technique (SRT) equipment, guided by professionals. The adventure involves exploring the underground forest, walking through a tunnel, and reaching the mystical Grubug Cave, where the famous light beams create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Important: Jomblang Cave is not recommended for those with a fear of heights or claustrophobia. Comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, and proper preparation are essential.
Jomblang Cave Closure: Closed on March 31 - April 1, 2025, for the Lebaran Holiday (Hari Raya Idul Fitri).

Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano
Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano is a prehistoric volcano, estimated to be over 60 million years old. Its 700-meter-high peak offers one of the best spots to enjoy the sunset over Yogyakarta’s scenic landscape.
Hiking to the Peak
• The hike takes 50-60 minutes to reach the western peak, Mount Gedhe.
• There is a spacious area at the peak, but camping is only allowed at a designated lower area to avoid strong winds.
• From the top, visitors can admire the majestic Mount Lima Jari in the distance.

To ensure a safe and comfortable adventure inside Jomblang Cave, please prepare the following items:

1. Reliable Flashlight
   • Essential for navigating the vertical path and underground tunnel safely.
2. Socks & Towels
   • Bring dry socks and a towel to clean and dry your feet after caving.
   • Note: Rubber boots (safety boots) are provided at the cave site.
3. Sandals & Spare Clothes
   • A clean change of clothes and comfortable footwear for after the caving session.
4. Mosquito Repellent
   • Highly recommended to prevent insect bites before entering the cave.
5. Small Backpack
   • Easy to carry your personal items during the tour.
6. Camera or Smartphone
   • Don’t miss the chance to capture the famous “Heaven’s Light” — a magical natural light beam inside the cave.

Jomblang Caving Restrictions

1. Age Limit: 5–60 years old
2. Weight Limit: Maximum 150 kg/person
3. Daily Participant Limit: 75 people/day (Advance booking is required!)
